The electrical test is run with machines which, by means of special needle beds or mobile probes, check the continuity and insulation of the tracks, starting from a netlist generated from the files relating to the board to be tested. In the case of a double SMD, two tests have to be run simultaneously with two sets of dedicated equipment.
The boards that are to be electrically tested are negatively printed on the solder with a “TE” mark. The tested batches can always be traced and the problems found examined.
On 1st February 2007 I.C.S. has opened its own electrical test department, equipped with a new flying probe machine.
